      Education Week and Book Week

During Week 8 at Yates, we had a joint celebration of Book Week and Education Week.

The Education Week theme is Ignite Your Potential and the Book Week theme is Book an Adventure. Below are the activities we have planned for the week:
Open Day was Tuesday, with parents visiting classrooms, enjoying a picnic with their children and watching the Book an Adventure dress-up parade. Throughout the week, students engaged with craft activities, book quizes, bookworm guesing competitions and lots of fun activities in the classroom.
Thank you to our parents and carers who supported the school for these events. It was fantastic to see so many mums, dads and other families members enjoying themselves during our special celebrations. A big thank you to our organising team - Mrs Miller, Mrs Gale, Mrs Srun and Mrs McCabe.
      Open classrooms
      Family picnic
      Book character parade

      Literacy on the Lawn

      Stage 2 camp  -Yarramundi YMCA

During Week 9, students in Year 3 and 4 enjoyed a fun and rewarding two-camp camp at Yarramundi YMCA. They bravely challenged themselves to activities such as rock climbing, giant swing, alpine rescue and much more, displaying great team work and perseverance throughout the camp.

A big thank you to Mrs West, Ms Yu, Mrs Xagoraris and Miss Cramp for their dedication and support of the students at camp - well done!

      Term 3 Principal's awards

On the last day of term, we celebrated the achievements of those students who have worked consistently in class and shown great dedication to learning. Congratulations to all those students who received their Term 3 Principal’s Award and Attendance Awards.

It is important that you have completed an enrolment form and sent us the required documentation before the first Kindergarten orientation.

      End of term

I would like to thank the community for their ongoing support of the school: in the uniform shop, at P and C meetings, in the canteen, the K-6 athletics carnival, Father's Day stall and preparing the free BBQ lunch for students.  Throughout Term 4, we are hoping to have more parent involvement next term with fundraising and support for our families.

      Start of Term 4

There will be a school development day for teachers only on Monday, 13th October. All students will return on Tuesday, 14th October.

Have a great few weeks :)
