During Week 8 at Yates, we had a joint celebration of Book Week and Education Week.
The Education Week theme is Ignite Your Potential and the Book Week theme is Book an Adventure. Below are the activities we have planned for the week:






































































Literacy on the Lawn
Stage 2 camp -Yarramundi YMCA
During Week 9, students in Year 3 and 4 enjoyed a fun and rewarding two-camp camp at Yarramundi YMCA. They bravely challenged themselves to activities such as rock climbing, giant swing, alpine rescue and much more, displaying great team work and perseverance throughout the camp.
A big thank you to Mrs West, Ms Yu, Mrs Xagoraris and Miss Cramp for their dedication and support of the students at camp - well done!
Term 3 Principal's awards
On the last day of term, we celebrated the achievements of those students who have worked consistently in class and shown great dedication to learning. Congratulations to all those students who received their Term 3 Principal’s Award and Attendance Awards.
Moving Bodies Ball Skills - Term 4
During Term 4, all students will participate in weekly ball skills lessons by the Moving Bodies fitness company.
When it appears in School Bytes, we kindly ask parents for payment at a subsidised rate of $20 per student. A note will be sent via School Bytes in the first week of Term 4
Ball skills will start in Week 2 and continue every Monday and Thursday. The timetable will be the same as Term 3 dance lessons. Students are asked to wear sports uniform for this activity.

Kindergarten orientation program
Our Kindergarten orientation program is coming in Term 4!
It is important that you have completed an enrolment form and sent us the required documentation before the first Kindergarten orientation.
End of term
I would like to thank the community for their ongoing support of the school: in the uniform shop, at P and C meetings, in the canteen, the K-6 athletics carnival, Father's Day stall and preparing the free BBQ lunch for students. Throughout Term 4, we are hoping to have more parent involvement next term with fundraising and support for our families.
Start of Term 4
There will be a school development day for teachers only on Monday, 13th October. All students will return on Tuesday, 14th October.

Uniform shop - Term 4
The uniform shop will be open at the following times:
- Tuesday - 8.30am - 9.00am
- Thursday - 2.30pm - 3.00pm
The uniform shop is in need of second hand items. If you have uniforms you no longer need, please bring them to the shop or front office.
New girls' uniform items for sale (see photos attached):
- winter skirt - $55
- shirt to wear under the tunic - $30 (no embroidery) or $35 (embroidered).
Please visit the uniform shop or contact the P & C at yatesavenuepandc@gmail.com to place an order for the new girl's shirt.
Canteen
In Term 4, the canteen will be open every second Wednesday for lunch, recess and snacks:
- 22nd October (Week 2)
- 5th November (Week 4)
- 19th November (Week 6)
- 3rd December (Week 8)
- 17th December (Week 10)
There is hot food and sandwiches available for lunch orders, as well as a selection of tasty snacks, drinks and ice blocks - see updated menu below.
Lunch orders need to be in by 8.00am via the Flexischools app, or at the canteen by 9.00am.
If you would like to volunteer as a canteen helper, please email the P & C at yatesavenuepandc@gmail.com.
Subway lunch orders
Don't forget that students can order their lunch through Subway, Ermington every Friday.
Online orders need to be made by 9.30am on Friday. Please follow these steps:

- Click and collect for the Ermington Subway store (22 Betty Cuthbert Ave)
- Make sure you write your child's full name and school name eg. John Smith - Yates Avenue PS
- Enter the pick-up time for 10.45am
